Letter from the ELPOA President

January 1, 2009

Dear ELPOA Members,

When my family moved to Erskine Lakes in 1970, I had no idea that it was such a special place. Swimming in the summer and skating in the winter were just a fact of life and often taken for granted. It wasn't until Tammy and I moved back to Erskine Lakes to raise our own family that I realized what a special gift my parents had given me. Our lakes are beautiful, and the surrounding mountains are breathtaking. People are always there to offer a helping hand at just about any event you attend. The spirit of volunteerism is alive and well and living in Erskine Lakes! Progress on the dam is going somewhat slower than expected; however we should have it completed by the spring. We will be sending out the member applications soon in the effort to get a jump on our financial situation earlier than usual.

Please remember that the assessment for the regular members and the dues increase for provisional members will not go into effect until the dam project is completed. I would like to thank former president Charlie DeDeyn for leading E.L.P.O.A. through some very trying times. His dedication and tireless work on behalf of our community are examples that will be difficult to equal. Thanks Charlie, great job!!! I look forward to seeing everyone at the winter events.

Sincerely,

Christopher Meakem
